It’s been four years since Lucy, the action movie with Scarlett Johansson in the lead role, hit theatres. It was a huge success, and it won’t be the last time we see Johansson playing this character, as recently announced: a sequel is coming! Lucy 2 is in production, with Luc Besson directing again and Scarlett Johansson reprising her role as the superhuman Lucy. But what will the plot of Lucy 2 look like? What new elements will be added to this already fantastic movie? In this blog post, we’ll explore these questions and all the details we know about the upcoming movie.
After the mid-point performance
After the mid-point performance, the movie Lucy will have a sequel. This is evident from the fact that Johansson has signed on to reprise her role as the title character. The news was confirmed by studio executives, who also revealed that filming is set to begin in early 2019.
While no plot details have been revealed yet, it is safe to assume that the sequel will pick up where the first movie left off. For those who have yet to see Lucy, it follows a woman (Johansson) who gains superpowers after she ingests a drug that was supposed to be used as a weapon. She then uses her new abilities to take down the people who wronged her.
It’s unclear if any of the other cast members from Lucy will return for the sequel, but given Johansson’s involvement, some of them will likely be back. No matter who ends up being in the sequel, one thing is for sure – it will be action-packed!
